What ZeyroVault is

ZeyroVault is an independent project that publishes free encryption tools. They run inside your browser, need no account, no installation and no upload, and keep working offline once the page has loaded.

What the tools do

The working tools live at tools.zeyrovault.com. They encrypt and decrypt text, files and messages, and derive keys from your passphrase instead of storing them for you.

  • Encrypt and decrypt in the browser, with no server in the loop.
  • Derive keys from your passphrase with PBKDF2 instead of holding them.
  • Build hashes, HMACs and JWTs locally, and work offline once loaded.

What we deliberately do not do

There is no sign-up, no user account and no server-side copy of your data. The tools do not upload your plaintext or your keys, and nothing is recorded about what you encrypt.

  • No account to register and nothing to log in to.
  • No upload: encryption happens before anything could leave your device.

Standards we build on

Encryption uses AES-256-GCM, standardised in NIST SP 800-38D and FIPS 197. Keys come from PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA-256, described in RFC 8018, and hashing uses SHA-256.
