Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026
Acceptance of Terms
By using ZeyroVault, you agree to these terms. If something here doesn't sit right with you, please don't use the service.
What ZeyroVault Provides
ZeyroVault offers free, browser-based encryption tools. All encryption happens on your device. Our service includes:
- Web-based encryption tools — encrypt text, files, and messages in your browser
- No server-side storage — your input and keys stay in your browser
- Documentation explaining how the encryption works
Intellectual Property
We own the ZeyroVault name, logo, website and code. You own the data you encrypt with our tools — always. Because we never receive your plaintext, keys or encrypted output, no licence to host or transmit your data is needed.
The software is provided without warranty. ZeyroVault and its logo are our trademarks.
Your Responsibilities
To keep things safe for everyone, you agree to:
- Keep your encryption keys and passwords safe — we can't recover them for you
- Back up anything important — encryption doesn't replace backups
- Use the service lawfully
- Not attempt to compromise, overload, or exploit the service
No Server-Side Storage
ZeyroVault does not operate a storage service for your data:
- Your input, passphrase and keys stay in your browser and are never uploaded.
- Anything you download or share is under your control, not ours.
- If you lose your encryption key, no one can recover the data — including us.
- We cannot remove, inspect or restore files that we never received.
Disclaimer
We take security seriously, but legally we need to be clear about the limits of what we guarantee:
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING:
- Merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Uninterrupted availability
- Absolute security of encrypted data
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ZEYROVAULT IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING:
- Loss of data
- Loss of profits
- Business interruption
- Unauthorized access to encrypted data
Ending the Relationship
These terms apply until either of us ends them:
- You can stop at any time — close the page and delete any files you saved.
- We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or misuse the service
- After termination, sections about intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, and governing law continue to apply
- Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing to retrieve after termination.
Updates to These Terms
We may revise these terms when needed. For significant changes, we'll post a notice on the website at least 30 days before they take effect. Minor adjustments take effect when posted. Changes take effect on that date unless you object in writing before it, and you can delete your data and stop using the service at any time.
Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the service operator is established, under exclusion of its conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected, and nothing here limits your right to bring proceedings in your home country.
If a dispute arises, we will first try to resolve it informally. Please contact us at legal@zeyrovault.com with details of your concern. If we cannot resolve the dispute within 60 days, either party may pursue legal remedies in a court of competent jurisdiction.
Severability
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, that part will be limited or removed as minimally as possible, and the rest stays in effect.
